Sal continues to be rated as one of the World’s top class surfing destinations, as it has been gifted with tropical winds from November to June and a tropical climate all year around. The surf station housed by Hotel Morabeza, SURF ZONE,  offers a friendly and multilingual surf team, to assist both beginners and more advanced surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers, of all types. Whatever your level, take optimal advantage of this surfing environment!

Windsurfing:

Surf Zone has a large range of boards and sails for rental (beginner, intermediate, advanced and wave riding material). Clients are welcome to take the material to other locations (with the exception of Punta Preta) to windsurf. Should they choose to remain in the Bay, there are a number of areas in which clients can windsurf, depending on the conditions they prefer.

The School also offers beginner to advanced windsurfing lessons (jibes, freestyle, foot-straps, etc.). For beginners the recommended course is a 3 hour course to get you to the point of independence.

Kite surfing:
Surf Zone provides professional and quality kite lessons and rentals. They update their kite material every year to ensure clients have access to the latest material for both rentals and lessons. The school also stocks a number of new kite boards for rental.  

Surf Zone School offers kite lessons in 5 different languages. Their groups are small, 2 people per instructor, and the cost of lessons include transfer to other locations for lessons, if the wind in Santa Maria beach in insufficient.

Surfing rental: Surf Zone has a wide range of surf boards for hire, ranging from Mini Malibu and Malibu to short and long boards
They also have Body boards and Kayaks

Lessons: Can be provided in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Both group and individual lessons.   

Safety: The Surf Station excels in its attention to safety and ensures there is always an emergency boat rescue on hand!

Hours: The School in open from 9.00am to 5.00pm, 7 days a week from October to August.
